There are only 4 days left to support our AFMHS Chorus. By donating to the Fill My Note fundraiser, you are investing in creativity, confidence, and unforgettable memories. Our chorus students are excited to showcase their talent beyond the classroom in New York City. Your donation funds their choral trip and can also help them win a prize if they are one of the top three earners.

Our blood drive with Red Cross will be next Tuesday at Allendale-Fairfax High School. Giving blood is one of the simplest ways to give back. Take part in our blood drive because every drop counts. Board Member Appreciation Month is a time to recognize the dedicated leaders who help guide our district forward. Today we start with Mrs. Althea Carter who has served on our board for 2 years. As a former teacher, she has the insight and knowledge to help us make informed decisions. We are grateful for her commitment, service, and advocacy on behalf of our students, staff, and community.

Our second District Strategic and High School Continuous Planning Meeting was productive. We took a deep dive on multiple areas in our district and created a plan for how we can address challenges. Administrators and teachers collaborated to share their valuable perspectives and insights, allowing us to create innovative and effective solutions. We look forward to the positive impact this work will bring.
Music can take you places, and our AFMHS Chorus is headed to NYC! Support our Fill My Note fundraiser to help our students experience a once in a lifetime chorus trip. Your contribution helps cover essential travel costs and performance opportunities. Thank you for supporting the arts and our students.

Families we are still anticipating the impending weather. As a precautionary measure, students will be taking home district issued devices and support meals in the event we resort to an E-learning day. Continue to monitor local news outlets and our official social media channels for the latest weather updates.
The Board Meeting scheduled for Monday, January 26th has been postponed until February 2nd due to the storm expected to impact our region this weekend.
Please note that the delay of the Board Meeting does not indicate a decision regarding school on Monday. At this time, no determination has been made about school operations. We value instructional time and will only resort to E-learning if absolutely necessary to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
An update regarding Monday’s schedule will be provided Sunday afternoon after we receive the latest and most accurate update from our Allendale Emergency Management Team.
We are working closely with the Allendale Emergency Management Team to monitor the impending storm. We will provide you with an update as soon as one becomes available. The safety of our staff and students remains a priority and we want everyone to be diligent and prepared. Please watch local news outlets and our social media channels for updates.

Tomorrow is the 100th day of the 2025-2026 school year. Students may dress as they see themselves at 100 years of age.
