Tiger Nation, Interim Reports are available today, September 10, 2026! This is an important opportunity for students and families to check academic progress and see where things stand as we move through the first nine weeks.
Students, take time to check your grades, celebrate the progress you’ve made, and make a plan to finish strong! If there is a class where your grade is not where you want it to be, now is the time to ask questions, complete assignments, seek extra help, and make the necessary adjustments.
Parents and guardians, we encourage you to review your student’s interim report with them. Celebrate what is going well, talk about areas that need improvement, and work together to set goals for the remainder of the grading period.
Remember, an interim report is a progress check, not the finish line! There is still time to improve, grow, and succeed.

Please join us on Friday, September 11th at 9:00 AM in the AFMHS Gymnasium for a memorial day service hosted by the AFHS Tiger Battalion. They will be honoring the lives lost during the 9/11 tragedy as well as the heroes who cleaned up wreckage and identified persons. This event is open to the community and we strongly encourage our veterans to join us for this program. We we will continue to pay tribute as a way to ensure we never forget.

September is Attendance Awareness Month and we are excited to announce our district initiatives to encourage our students to be present and engaged, everyday! We are hosting a video contest that begins Monday, September 7th and 1st place take home a $50 cash prize. There will also be a Comeback Cup Walk at our schools to boost student attendance and morale. Lastly, the school with the most improved attendance will be awarded the Comeback Cup! Join us in our efforts to reduce student truancy and increase classroom participation!

AFHS IS CELEBRATING ITS PBIS KICKOFF! AUGUST 31-SEPTEMBER 4, 2026 STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ACTIVITIES. IF A STUDENT DOES NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE ACTIVITIES, THEY MUST WEAR THEIR UNIFORMS.
Our Senior Class couldn't wait ’til the sun came out! The Class of 2027 held a Senior Sunrise on our football field, complete with food, crafts, and games. The class gathered before 6 am to watch the sun rise while creating memories, fellowshipping, and celebrating the beginning of their senior year together. We cannot wait to see what else this class has in store for this year!

Today, we welcomed the Class of 2027 for Senior Orientation as they prepared for an exciting school year ahead. Students received valuable information about college applications, senior activities, graduation expectations, and other important milestones to help them start the year strong. To make the day even more special, every senior received school supplies, including clear backpacks, to ensure they're ready for success from day one! A heartfelt thank you to Hampton Lumber for generously providing clear backpacks for all of our scholars and to Chandler Law Firm for keeping everyone refreshed with snacks and beverages. Your support helps make a difference in the lives of our students.
Hoy dimos la bienvenida a la Clase de 2027 durante la Orientación para Seniors, donde se prepararon para un emocionante año lleno de oportunidades. Los estudiantes recibieron información importante sobre solicitudes universitarias, becas, actividades para seniors, requisitos de graduación y otros temas clave para comenzar el año con éxito. Además, ¡cada estudiante recibió útiles escolares, incluyendo una mochila transparente, para que estén listos desde el primer día de clases! Next school year is right around the corner! Parents and guardians are encouraged to register their scholars as soon as possible to ensure a smooth and successful start. Last call for our June Board/Community Meeting tonight at 6PM in the AFHS Multipurpose Room. We will be announcing recognitions our district has earned and reviewing the third version of our 2026-2027 budget. There will be updates from our Finance, Human Resources, and Curriculum departments as well as Superintendent Dr. Cave's monthly operational report. Lastly, we will confirm updates to our curriculum and discuss the progress of our facilities. Come out to stay up to date with our district.
Don't forget to attend our June Board/Community Meeting tomorrow evening at 6PM in the AFHS Multipurpose Room. Our board will discuss updates to our curriculum and recognize the district for its accomplishments. We will have the third reading of our budget and and hear reports from Finance, Curriculum, and Human Resources. Superintendent Dr. Cave will also be reviewing operational and facility updates as we undergo several construction projects and exciting initiatives ahead of next year.
