
AFES is having Open House this Thursday, September 18th at 5:00 PM! Come hear important Title One updates, meet your child’s teacher, and sign up for PTO. More photos from our fruitful Grandparents Day Breakfast! Families enjoyed a hot breakfast and photo shoot after the conclusion of the parade. It was amazing watching the families connect with our staff and each other. We all feel a sense of family as we celebrate our beloved grandparents!

Our Grandparents Day Parade was a huge success! We had an amazing turnout of grandparents who came to celebrate and support our students. The kids were just as eager to see their grandparents, and the air was filled with excitement, love, and pride. Thank you to everyone who joined us and organized this event. Grandparents, you truly make a difference in our students’ lives, and today was a beautiful reminder of the impact you have!

Allendale-Fairfax Elementary School is proud to highlight our September Students of the Month in our latest YouTube video! Each month, AFES chooses a character word and honors Tigers who best embody it. This month’s word is responsibility, and five students share what it means to them. We want to showcase our 20 Students of the Month chosen by their teachers, for modeling the “Tiger Way” and living out our 4 B’s: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Ready to Learn, and Be Safe. AFES is off to a fun start! Our elementary school hosted their first PBIS event for students to encourage good behavior. Each grade level engaged in a friendly competition reciting their own chants.The gym was filled was screams, laughs, and smiles as the everyone cheered and danced.

Grandparents pull on September 9th at 8:50 AM in honor of Grandparents Day! The parade will start promptly at 9:00 AM, so we ask that you line up near our football field. Get creative and decorate your vehicle or a poster to celebrate your student! We will provide light refreshments in the cafeteria following the event.

It was a fun Friday at Allendale-Fairfax Elementary! Our staff showed off their brand-new custom AFES jerseys, just in time for our Black Out Gameday! These jerseys represent more than school spirit. They symbolize unity and fellowship. Here’s to a year of growth and support together!







Final reminder that tonight at 5:00 PM we will be holding a meeting for our Pre-K 3 Parents! This meeting is all about helping our little cubs thrive! When families and educators work together, students grow both academically and socially. Come out to get valuable information, tips, and insight that can help your child succeed.


Please join us for our first Board/Community Meeting on August 25th at 6:00 PM. This month we will be recognizing our staff and schools for their accomplishments! We will also give updates on our various departments and capital projects. We hope to see a packed house full of community support and engagement, so come on out!

During this meeting we will be discussing the expectations of our first year students and what you can do at home to help. Parents of Pre-K3 Students, we invite you to an informative meeting on Thursday, August 21st at 5:00 PM in the AFES Cafeteria. This meeting will help make the transition for you and your student easier. As first year students, there are a lot of changes and we want to help you adapt in any way we can! Please join us for an opportunity to discuss potty training, meet with teachers, and bridge the gap between school and home. Your attendance will make the year go smoother, so we are counting on you to be there!
