PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

2011 – 2012

Allendale-Fairfax High School Mission Statement:

The mission of Allendale-Fairfax High School is to ensure that every student has an opportunity to be successful.

My name is Ron O. Youmans. First and foremost, I am excited about the awesome school year that we had this past year at Allendale-Fairfax High School. There were a number of exciting events that transpired throughout the school year that many of our students will remember. However, I am looking forward to another successful school year for 2011-2012. Last year my goal for AFHS was that it would improve its Improvement Rating on the state report card to “Excellent.” My vision for AFHS continues to be that it will be a school that is successfully meeting the needs of all the students. This year’s goal for AFHS is that it will improve its Absolute Rating on the state report card to “Average.” It is my desire that AFHS meet the necessary objectives to make AYP.

This school year, we are looking forward to working with well over 430 of the smartest, most talented, creative, and caring students, and adults. We have been working diligently in preparing for our Freshman Academy. We recognize the importance of establishing a smoother transition for these students from the middle to the high school and feel that the Freshman Academy will serve as a training ground where students learn how to be successful high school students. Here at AFHS, we are committed to excellence in the education of our students. At Allendale-Fairfax High School, we are “Investing In Every Child”.

At AFHS, we look forward to the continued support and involvement of our parents and community to ensure a more successful 2011-2012 school year. Since we are very much aware that education is a home/school partnership, we are striving to create an even stronger alliance between the home and school to increase student achievement. We serve a diverse population of students whose cultural values may differ greatly from one group to the next; however, regardless of this diversity, their aspirations and desires for success are deeply rooted in their home and family values. As a result, we encourage all stakeholders to participate in the life changing movement that is going here at Allendale-Fairfax High School.

 Educationally,

Ron O. Youmans
